Today is Happy Release Day of my new album *Alles Licht* written for organ and grand piano.
We are proud & grateful.
The compositions for *Alles Licht* were created during the pandemic years. At that time, I was searching for an instrument that could bring new sounds into a changed world while offering comfort—both for myself and for others. This is how I discovered the organ.
I began working on a cycle of pieces that express my feelings about the world and my thoughts on the gradual disappearance of cherished (natural) spaces, precious refuges, and biodiversity on our planet.
The album was created in close collaboration with the organist Daniel Stickan, with whom Ulrike Haage has already played together several times. The directness and clarity of the recording, the interwoven sound of concert grand piano and church organ is due to the emotional and musical harmony of Ulrike Haage and Daniel Stickan, as well as the special nature of the room to which they both retreated for the production. In the Neue Kirche – Kleinmachnow, where the atmosphere of a recording studio could almost be recreated.
“The pieces on ALLES LICHT reflect the state of the world on the one hand and the artist’s deeply personal thoughts and feelings on the other. Thoughts and feelings that she wants to carry into the world and share with it. Ulrike Haage’s music reflects her encounters with people and her engagement with their lives. She reflects her connection with nature, classical music, jazz, minimal music and improvisation. She reflects on experiences from her travels to Japan, her work for radio and film. Everything flows together and into each other.”
